Week 25: One more year!

Image
HI family! This letter will be a little short because I am out of time hahaha.  This week was pretty run of the mill. We worked hard everyday! We contacted 194 people this week, so that was exciting. I have a cold this week, so it was a little hard to be excited to leave the house and talk with people.  This morning we were going to go help a lady in the ward clean her new house. She lives in the elder`s sector which is way out in the country. We biked for like 20 minutes, and then decided to call her. She said that she wasnt at home, so we turned around and biked back. It was a little bit crazy, but oh well hahaha. Here are some pictures.  This week we talked with a couple people that wanted to fight with us about the bible. I was feeling like I needed to study a lot and gain some knowledge. I decided to study about knowledge in Preach my Gospel. I read a scripture that said basically that when we study and preach with the spirit, we will receive gra...

Week 24: New Companion - Hermana Bracho!!

Image
Hi Family! It was super fun to talk with some of you this morning. First of all, Happy Birthday to Bea this week. Super crazy. Enjoy the celebrations together.  This week was a little hard, but ended super great!! This week we worked everyday contacting people. It is hard because we are basically walking around or using bikes and talking with every person we see. It is hard right now because there are not a lot of people in the street to talk to. We worked as hard as we could this week, and we only had like 5 lessons, and only found 1 new person to teach. Then on Sunday we worked hard again. It was super frustrating, but then in the night we started seeing miracles!! We found 7 new people to teach! It was super awesome because we found a Haitian couple to teach, and then we asked them if they knew anyone that we could teach. They showed us their friend`s house, and then we taught them too. Then we found a Colombian lady to teach, and also a Venezuelan lady too. It was super cr...

Week 23: Lots of Goodbyes and Lots of food

Image
Hi Family!  This week I am feeling a lot better. I have been terrible at writing letters these past couple weeks, so I will send a lot of pictures and try to remember everthing.hahaha.  The biggest thing this week is that we had a baptism this weekend!!! Her name is Ruth and she is nine. She is super cute, and has cute long hair and big eyes. One of the members in the ward baptized her. His name is Jorhan, he is from Venezuela too and is a recent convert of a little more than a year. He is super awesome and accompanies us in our visits. It was super cute because one of the primary kids gave a talk about the Holy Ghost, and they sang When I am Baptized. Hopefully you can see the video This week on Friday Hermana Tituaña went home. The last couple days were pretty crazy because all of the members wanted to say goodbye to her. It was a little bit hard because everyone wanted to talk about her house, and being home and what she was going to do ...

Week 22: General Conference!

Image
Hi family!  I was chatting with a few of you today, and didn't have a lot of time. But here is a short email to let you know that I still love you and I am still alive. This weekend we watched general conference. I loved it! Especially the talk by Becky Craven and Elder Homer. I cant wait to read the talks again and study them more! As I watched I had the impression that every change that Russell M. Nelson has made has blessed each person in our family. Bea can go to the temple now as an 11 year old. It sounds like Sarah and the other family members and enjoying the program Come Follow me, I am able to talk more with you each week! I am so grateful for the prophet and the changes he has made. I love you so much! Thanks for supporting me in my mission! I promise next week will be a better email hahaha Love,  Hermana Christensen (I cant remember if I already sent this pic, but I am happy when I am eating hahaha), but I am more happy when I am feasting on ...

Week 21: Happy Birthdays!

Image
HI family! I have a lot of pictures this week, so that will be fun or yall hopefully.  Happy birthday to everyone that had a birthday this week/month. On March 30 Hermana Tituaña had her birthday, so I decorated a door for her. I didnt have a lot of time or candy, but it turned out cute, and she like it :) This week we ate with these cute grandmas named Sonia and Iris. Sonia is one of our converts, and Iris is her friend. They are best friends and like to argue with each other about whether or not people can own coastline hahaha. They like to go to lessons with us, and are always looking out for us. Sorry the picture is super bad, but it is all I have. Iris is on the left and Sonia on the right.   On Thursday we had a Zone conference. It was Hermana Tituaña´s last, so she asked if we could use her traditional dress. I was a little embarassed to use it, but it turned out great. I wish that I had a cool tradtion/culture like that hahaha. May...

Week 20: All things Venezuelan

Image
Hi Family! The first few weeks of my misison I felt like the only people we taught were from Haiti, and now they are from Venezuela! Right now we are teaching a family from Venezuela. The mom is name Joana. She is less active, but she talked to us one day in the street, and we are teaching her daughter! Her name is Ruth, and she is so cute! She is 9 and basically super pretty and nice. She will be baptized on April 12. I look giant next to them because they are all super small and skinny hahaha. The blonder lady in the picture is a member named Marleny. She is from Venezuela too, but has a son that lives in Utah! I think in Spanish Fork.  This week we also made arepas. They are like a tortilla, but fatter. People in venezuela always make them, and everyone there knows how to make them. I think they eat them with cheese and chicken, or with ham or whatever. Basically I dont know why but my only pictures are with food... The people from Haiti always give u...
