Week 19: Why did the old lady cross the road?

Image
Hi family!  Thank you so much for all of your letters this week. I feel super blessed and loved! I dont have a ton of time to read all of them, so I am going to print them out and read them this week For the subject line. This sunday we were riding our bikes back from the church, and we passed an old lady that was walking really slow and heavily. We stopped and asked her if she needed help with anything. She said that she was waiting for a taxi, but needed to sit down for a little bit. I helped walk her over to a bench where she could wait. It was awesome because we always talk about doing service for old people, but a lot of times I feel like I never see old people to help. But I did this week!   This week we had interviews with our mission president. And I got your package!!!!! WHOO HOO!!! I waited to look at the valentines when I got back to the house because I felt a little weird looking at them in the chapel hahaha. But thank you!!! Werthers are my favorite ca...

Week 18: Anacos y Hermana Tituaña

Image
Hola Fam! From the other side of the world where toilets drain the opposite way (or so I´ve heard).  This week I got my new companion Hermana Tituaña! She is from Ecuador, and this is her last 6 weeks in the mission. She has 3 other sisters, and one brother. This Sunday we wore the traditional dress of the indigenous (sp?) people in Ecuador. It is called Anaco. I felt basically like a latin princess, so that was super awesome! All of the people in the ward loved it! This week was a little bit  crazy, but at the same time super typical. We spent a lot of time contacting, teaching lessons, and visiting members. This week was a little hard because we worked super hard, but didnt see a lot of results. I am excited to keep working, and see how we will be blessed for our faith. I am leading the sector right now which means that I am the one that plans for the day, and I lead the way to lessons and stuff. It has been a pretty stressful week because of that, but I am excite...

Week 17: Why is it always about food??

Image
Hi family!  I hope everyone is doing great! Sorry for last week not writing anyone. It will probably not happen again hopefully. This week we ate some goooood food. On the night before we found out about changes, Hermana Lopez and I were feeling very anxious. At almost the same time, we turned to each other, and said, ``Do you want to get sushi?`` it was awesome and very delicious.  On sunday we had a baptism!! Her name is Erika. She has a lot of health problems, but she is amazing! She has so much faith in God and Jesus Christ.  Tomorrow we have changes. I will stay in Curicó, and my new companion is name Sister Tatuaña (not sure on the spelling yet). Hermana Lopez is going to Buin, so she was saying good bye to everyone. We went to the house of one of recent converts, Ricardo. It was awesome because all of our Hatian friends were there. They are so generous. They gave us HUGE plates of food. Even though they dont have a lot, they give their best to us...

Hey family. Sorry this week is going to be terrible. It was the first week that I was able to skype, so I used all the time to do that. OOps.  Here are some pictures. Please dont hate me..... Here is a picture with a family from the ward. Okay, sorry for the terrible email. I blame Maddie and her birthday. I love all you soooo much!!!! Hermana Christensen

Week 15: No Subject

Hi Family! Wow. Lots of exciting things this week. We had another baptism this weekend, so that was super awesome! Her name is Sonia, and I have told you a little about her. It was super awesome because she invited us to her house after for lunch. She invited over another family, and her friend Iris and Javiera. It reminded me a lot of when our familly has people over to eat, so that was fun. This week was a little hard because we  Today we went to a National Park type thing called 7 tazas, which means pool, I think. It was super cool, and I just love to be in nature. We climbed a lot of stairs and sweated a lot so...yeah. That was fun.    I am going to send a lot of pictures because I dont have a lot of time left, and we had a lot of stuff happen this week with pictures.  Me and my comp.

Week 14: Almonds keep falling on my head

Image
Hey family! This week was great! I have lots of stories to tell about food, so buckle up. Hopefully you read this after lunch so you arent too hungry.  For the subject line: The other day Hermana Lopez and I did divisions. That means that she went and taught a lesson with a member from the ward, and I was in a different lesson with a different member. I was a little bit scared to do this because I dont really know what I am doing still. But I was with a member name Francesca Flores. She is super nice and sweet and a returned missionary, so she knew what she was doing. Anyways, the lessons went really well and every thing was great. On the way to meet up with my companion, Francesca pointed out that there was an almond tree in one of the streets. The next day I passed it with Hermana Lopez and pointed it out. She was amazed! We picked and ate a couple, even though they werent ALL the way ripe. They still tasted really good and it was a blessing from above (literally, it was a...
