Week 34: On Fire!

Hi family!
I hope this week has been a good one for yall! This week was super exciting and we did a TON of things. That is why we are on fire! hahaha
This week we did 14 visits to the members in the ward. This is one of our new goals as a mission to be able to work more with the members and gain their trust. It has been hard to find time to visit all of these people, but we have been practicing short powerful visits. It was super awesome because we reached our  goal!! Whoo hoo!! I have really enjoyed this ward and working with the members. Next week we will get changes, so who knows where I will be next week. Hopefully in this ward still hahaha.

This week we are working with a family from Venezuela. The mom Jenny, and her daughter Alejandra are progressing the most. They have baptismal dates for July 20! Jenny, the mom, is awesome! She is reading the book of Mormon and always has really awesome questions. She came to church with her 4 year old twins and they behaved terrible! haha, but she felt the spirit and is excited to come again, so mission accomplished! if yall could pray for them this week, that would be awesome

I love you guys a ton! It is so fun to be able to talk to yall and get all your good advice.

Week 4: I wanna be where the people are...

Hola Familia! Wow. I can't believe it, but I only have about 17 months left in my mission! hahaha. But really the time is flying by in the MTC. I apologize, I didn't get a letter hand written this week, but hopefully next week I can squeeze it in. At the MTC, every second we are learning and growing, or eating and sleeping. When I do have a moment where I'm not doing something, I am memorizing scriptures or vocabulary.  This week was great! On Thursday was Thanksgiving. Most of the missionaries forgot because it was just like any other day. But when we went to dinner, there was a surprise waiting for us! The cafeteria staff had made a nice dinner for us. They put tableclothes on the table with cloth napkins, pitchers of juice, and flowers. Then they served us turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy. It was so nice! Week 35: Total Eclipse of the... sun

Hey family!  I hope this week has been a good one! It has been a good one on this side of the equator. This week we had an eclipse here in Chile! Whoo hoo!! The eclipse wasnt full where we were, but it still got a little bit dark. One of the ward members had the special lenses, so we got to see the sun through that. It was super cool, but not as cool as the one in Idaho, oh well. Here are some pics of when the sun was covered up. This was at like 4 in the afternoon.  This week I am tired! But it is super awesome! We have been working super hard in our sector and helping people progress. This week we set a baptismal date with Nelson. He is from Venezuela, and is in Chile working to bring his wife here. Nelson is awesome! He is reading the Book of Mormon, and progressing a lot! Week 36: I'm a mom!

Hi family! I hope everyone is doing well! Dont worry about the subject line, I´m not pregnant, but I am training a new missionary! Whoo hoo! It is a weird missionary thing to call your trainee your daughter...but.... It is kind of weird. Probably the last time I will do that. Her name is Hermana Machicado. She is from Bolivia and is super short and super cute! She is the 7th of 8 kids and all but two of her siblings are members. This week has been pretty great! It is amazing to see how the Lord has been preparing me, and how He is preparing the people we are teaching. I think everyone already knows, but I was struggling a lot with depression in the first part of my mission. These past couple weeks I have been able to realize that I am feeling SO MUCH BETTER!!! And just in time, because I am training a new missionary hahaha. But really, I am so grateful for all the experiences that I have had in my mission so far.
