Week 27: Hospitals and House Alarms

Hey family!

This week was a little bit crazy because we were not working in our sector for two days. One of the days we went to Rancagua for a training about the house alarms. All of the houses of the sisters have alarms, so we got trained on how to install them, how to fix them, and other stuff. I felt like I was in a tech class in high school again hahaha. It was fun because after we got Papa Johns Pizza! WHoo Hoo!! It is always fun to eat pizza because we almost never eat it. This week my companion has had some pain in her lower back, so we went to the hospital/doctor after the meeting. It is good because she doesnt have anything too serious and just had to take some medicine. We took a couple selfies because....How often do you get to visit a Chilean Hospital? Hopefully never!! hahaha. 

On Friday we had our Zone Conference. It was awesome because we talked about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. I am so grateful for both of them! I always enjoy talking about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon because they have made such a difference in my life. One of the things we talked about is that there is a pattern in the scriptures that before great things comes a period of testing. For example, before the First Vision, Joseph Smith felt the power of Satan. It was a good message for me to hear because I feel like I am going through some hard stuff. It has been pretty hard in our sector because we don`t have a lot of people that are progressing. I am excited to see the miracles that will come after this time of testing.

It was so fun to see you all on Mother`s day. I am so grateful for all the examples of wonderful mothers that I have in my life. Thank you for helping me with everything. Hopefully I will have more pictures next week hahaha

Hola Familia! Wow. I can't believe it, but I only have about 17 months left in my mission! hahaha. But really the time is flying by in the MTC. I apologize, I didn't get a letter hand written this week, but hopefully next week I can squeeze it in. At the MTC, every second we are learning and growing, or eating and sleeping. When I do have a moment where I'm not doing something, I am memorizing scriptures or vocabulary.  This week was great! On Thursday was Thanksgiving. Most of the missionaries forgot because it was just like any other day. But when we went to dinner, there was a surprise waiting for us! The cafeteria staff had made a nice dinner for us. They put tableclothes on the table with cloth napkins, pitchers of juice, and flowers. Then they served us turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy. It was so nice! Week 35: Total Eclipse of the... sun

Hey family!  I hope this week has been a good one! It has been a good one on this side of the equator. This week we had an eclipse here in Chile! Whoo hoo!! The eclipse wasnt full where we were, but it still got a little bit dark. One of the ward members had the special lenses, so we got to see the sun through that. It was super cool, but not as cool as the one in Idaho, oh well. Here are some pics of when the sun was covered up. This was at like 4 in the afternoon.  This week I am tired! But it is super awesome! We have been working super hard in our sector and helping people progress. This week we set a baptismal date with Nelson. He is from Venezuela, and is in Chile working to bring his wife here. Nelson is awesome! He is reading the Book of Mormon, and progressing a lot! Week 36: I'm a mom!

Hi family! I hope everyone is doing well! Dont worry about the subject line, I´m not pregnant, but I am training a new missionary! Whoo hoo! It is a weird missionary thing to call your trainee your daughter...but.... It is kind of weird. Probably the last time I will do that. Her name is Hermana Machicado. She is from Bolivia and is super short and super cute! She is the 7th of 8 kids and all but two of her siblings are members. This week has been pretty great! It is amazing to see how the Lord has been preparing me, and how He is preparing the people we are teaching. I think everyone already knows, but I was struggling a lot with depression in the first part of my mission. These past couple weeks I have been able to realize that I am feeling SO MUCH BETTER!!! And just in time, because I am training a new missionary hahaha. But really, I am so grateful for all the experiences that I have had in my mission so far.
