And she's off...

Week 1.  In June, Eloise received a call to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.   She was assigned to serve in the Chile Rancagua mission and to train in the Santiago MTC, beginning Nov 1.   The wait between June and Nov was a long one but also action-packed.  We renovated our main floor.  Her sister, Maddie, was married October 11.  We also snuck in one last trip to Yellowstone/Island Park.

We drove Eloise to the SLC airport yesterday so that she could make the 12 trip to Santiago.  She is an amazing young woman.  We already miss her dearly but she is needed elsewhere.

She wrote this morning that she arrived safe and sound:

Hello family!
I am safe and in Chile! I had a super long flight, but I am safe here. There were 3 missionaries on the flight to Dallas, and about 15 once we got there. They put all of our bags in the back of a pickup, I will send a picture soon, when I figure that out. Someone said that Chile looked like a mix of Florida and Utah. There are mountains really close, but it is a little humid and green. The weather right now is perfect. I have not gotten a companion yet, but I think that will be soon. It is cool to have the Carmacks as the MTC presidents. I will take some more pictures and figure out how to send them to you next week. Thank you for all of your letters! I loved reading them on the plane. Hopefully soon I will have more interesting news to tell all of you.

Love all of you soooooo much!
